The European Commission has imposed anti-dumping measures on tungsten electrodes from China and levies on exports to the EU on 22 November 2019.
Tungsten electrode is a kind of high quality electrode for welding and cutting. China is a major global producer of tungsten electrodes, exporting large quantities to the European market. Based on its findings, the European Commission concluded that Chinese tungsten electrodes had been dumped, causing damage to the European industry. Accordingly, the Commission decided to impose anti-dumping measures to protect the tungsten electrode industry in Europe.
According to documents issued by the European Commission, our Shaanxi Yuheng Tungsten & Molybdenum industrial Co., Ltd. has an anti-dumping duty rate of 41%, while other Chinese companies' exports to the EU market have an anti-dumping duty rate of 63.5%, which means that tungsten electrodes imported from China will be taxed at this rate to offset the effect of dumping.
For Chinese suppliers, this will increase the cost of sales in the European market. For European makers of tungsten electrodes, however, it will help them compete in the market
